Vision Plan

vision plan

Vision 2015 is Delaware's nationally-acclaimed plan to transform its public education system to world-class. It focuses on student achievement, fairness, and accountability, and sets high expectations for every child and every educator. To support these expectations, Vision 2015 is working to implement six major system reforms: setting high sights; investing in early childhood education; developing and supporting great teachers; empowering principals to be great school leaders; encouraging innovation and requiring accountability; and establishing a simple and fair funding system.

The Vision 2015 plan was developed by a broad-based, 28-person Steering Committee. Their work was informed substantially by expert counsel from nearly 80 Work Group members, representing education, community organizations, and businesses. Over the course of the 11-month process, nearly 500 citizens in all three Delaware counties participated in community meetings, focus groups, and special interest forums.
